Ice Fishing Programs:

Make your own tip-up in December,

and join us on Lake Defiance for ice fishing in February!

Tip-up and Ice Fishing Workshop    Sunday, December 11   1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Learn how to make an ice-fishing tip-up, then make a working tip-up all your own!  Members of our Volunteer Veterans Conservation Corps will have pre-cut parts all ready for you to assemble.  The workshop will then discuss ice fishing techniques and safety.  Participants are also invited to sign up for our February Ice Fishing on Lake Defiance, pending safe ice, of course.  This workshop is open to adults and children ages 10 & up.

Fee: $20.00/person, $15.00/FOMHSP member  Payable to Friends of Moraine Hills State Park upon arrival (check or cash only)

Ice Fishing on Lake Defiance           Sunday, February 5.      1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Please note: All anglers 16 years and up are REQUIRED to bring their fishing license.*

Bring your homemade tip-up or other ice fishing gear and join us for an afternoon on the ice. Please bring a 5 gallon bucket (to sit on) and dress in layers to guard against the cold, especially for your feet! This free event is open for adults and children ages 6 and up. Minors should bring a life jacket to wear and all participants will need to fill out a waiver.
