Wildflower Walks and Insect Safaris!

Wildflower Walks

Wondering about the wildflowers? Our naturalists will lead you to see what's blooming in the park, and share how people used them not only hundreds of years ago, but even now.

Program dates:

We'll usually meet from 10:00-11:30 at the Oak Opening parking lot unless otherwise noted.

    Monday, July 5, 10:00-11:30

    Sunday, July 18, 10:00-11:30

     Sunday, Sept. 12, 10:00 - 11:30

Insect Safaris

How about being an adventurer with us on an Insect Safari? We'll lend you a sweep net  to gently capture and observe fascinating insects before releasing them. Look for the green and pink feather flag to meet us at Northern Woods near the playground!

Program dates:

    Sunday, Aug. 15, 1:00-2:30

    Saturday, Sept 11, 1:00-2:30

Let us know if you want to attend by emailing us at dnr.volobog@illinois.gov or call us at the Volo Bog office at 815-344-1294, or just show up!

More dates will be added; watch this space for other dates for both programs.
