Halloween Pennant dragonfly MHSP July 23 2019 Mary Colwell_edited.jpg

Pictured above is a Halloween pennant dragonfly. It lives within the eastern portion of the United States and southeastern Canada with its favorite habitat near wetlands and other bodies of water. This predator catches other insects while in flight. Because it has an unusual habit of fluttering its wings, it's sometimes mistaken for a butterfly!
