Having Friends members and volunteers is essential to the general welfare of the park, so we encourage people to join us.  There are many ways to volunteer. You can dedicate a day or two for events, or volunteer on a regular basis.

Volunteer positions include bird guides, bluebird monitors, native plant gardeners, docents and habitat restoration volunteers. When the volunteer docents are available, the Nature Center is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays, April through mid-November, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Near the end of the year, volunteers gather for the annual potluck dinner, swap stories, and find out who is chosen as the Volunteer of the Year! For descriptions of volunteer opportunities, click here.

People who are interested in  becoming a volunteer can call the Volo Bog office at 815-344-1294 for more information.
